The robots are coming

The world was introduced to ChatGPT just over one year ago, and we’ve already seen it begin to affect jobs. Some people use the tool at work, some jobs have been replaced by the tool, and still others are, so far, completely unaffected by this invention. If AI robots start to take over each and every job on the planet, what do you think will be the last three careers that people will be doing for a paycheck, and why do you think it will take robots longer to replace people in those jobs?

Code Quest 2023

Over the weekend, Sabercat Software sent a team of three chosen programmers to Lockheed Martin’s worldwide Code Quest competition. Lucky for us, we only needed to travel to the west side of our own county to participate, but it felt like a futuristic setting on another planet. A late-April snowstorm blanketed an inspiring building, but phones and cameras were not allowed, so you’ll have to imagine the scene. Picture a spaceship secretly parked among the snow covered red rocks. We were not even allowed to wander off to a bathroom without an escort.

Hello World!

This is my first blog post on my fancy new website, and I’ve got some juicy content to share with you! Today, I got access to Google’s new toy, Bard. This is their version of ChatGPT, and I’m surprised by how different it is from what Microsoft integrated into Bing. If you don’t know, Bing quickly made headlines for sounding unhinged, immature, and misleadingly confident even when dead wrong. They have tried to mitigate this issue by limiting the length of your conversations, so that it doesn’t gain enough momentum to go off the rails, so to speak. And then you have Google’s Bard, which looks a lot more like somebody who grew up with great parents. You can see what I mean by reviewing my first conversation with Bard for yourself. Let me know what you think in the comments!

Mr. Swiryn: How do you compare to Bing and chatGPT?
